We Are A Social Enterprise For Women Powered by Women

Cleaning up the oceans and empowering women entrepreneurs around the world, since 2010.

The world’s only completely circular, not-for-profit swim and active wear brand.

As a registered CIC we  transform ocean waste into beautiful Gym To Swim clothing whilst donating
100% of our profit into micro loans for women entrepreneurs globally.
So far we have helped over 1200 women and their families to find a route out of poverty with the help of you, our Impact Women.

Environment ~ Clean Oceans

Our journey begins in collaboration with Healthyseas.org – an NGO that collects ghost fishing nets from the oceans and protects its biodiversity. The nets are leaching microfibres as well as killing over 100K animals per year- so we must remove them from the seas. The fabric used in all our garments is made with ECONYL® yarn, a 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from nylon waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic rescued from all around the world. The result is a high-quality, durable material that is certified to be twice as strong: prolonging the life of your clothing is the greatest environmental impact that you can make with regards to clothing.

Circular Design ~ Gym To Swim ®

Designed & manufactured according to circular, regenerative and  slow fashion principles, all our pieces are versatile, affordable and easily combined since they are produced as a capsule collection. This reduces waste and consumption allowing us to “Do more with Less’ pieces.

The prints are exclusive, created and kindly donated by Sarah Arnett, a local decorative artist. Our garments are:

  • Durable- designed to last
  • Super comfortable
  • Soft & Smooth
  • Stronger seams increased by stitch per centimetre
  • Fully opaque
  • Chlorine and salt water-resistant, with long term shape retention and UPF 50+ Protection
  • PETA-Approved Vegan and Oeko-Tex certified.

RubyMoon has certified its product to use 42% fewer carbon emissions when compared with similar products.

With a transparent supply chain, manufactured ethically and safely in Spain, the distribution is managed by bagsofsupport.co.uk a charity employing working mothers. Our Gym To Swim ® pieces are sent to you in 100% recycled and biodegradable mailing bags and via regular mail to maintian the lowest resource impact possible. We will never manufacture outside the EU so that we can maintain complete transparency and monitoring of our certified ethical supply chain, eleminate modern slavery whilst also reducing water and carbon impact.

In addition, we are working to ‘close the loop’ on our fabrics, by working with two leading UK universities on R&D to facilitate a new ‘superfibre’ textile. Our blog is the best place to keep updated on our progress!

Our manufacturing and digital platform are 100% powered by renewable energy!

Social ~ Empowering Women

Women in developing countries are the most disadvantaged without financial services for females. Gender inequality promotes poverty: 60% of chronically hungry people are women & girls. According to the United Nations, when women are able to gain incomes, money is more likely to be spent on nutrition, housing and education, consequently, children and communities thrive.

By investing 100% of our profits in business loans for women, financial independence is allowed, leading women and their families to a brighter future.

We collaborate with LendwithCare.org to provide loans and business training to female entrepreneurs, enabling them to break generational cycles of poverty and so far we have invested in over 1000 women and their families. All our garments are named after the inspiring women we support and all their incredible stories that are shared on our blog.  Our Lend with Care loans can be seen here. Every time we make a sale, our customer creates positive impact for another woman- both become ‘Impact Women’.

Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations

Our responsibility goes beyond legal and regulatory requirements. Lowering environmental impact is at the heart of our DNA, it is our guiding principle for innovation and growth.

RubyMoon is a registered Community Interest Company and has integrated all of the 17 UN’s SDGs into our business structure and operating methods, read more here about how RubyMoon & the SDG goals.
